Welcome to PASS (Parent Advocacy for Successful Students with Hearing Impairments).  This is an initiative started by concerned parents with students in the GBCHI (Galveston-Brazoria Cooperative for the Hearing Impaired) to effect changes in the program.  GBCHI is the RDSPD (Regional Day School Program for the Deaf) for students in Galveston and Brazoria County.  This region includes the Alvin, Clear Creek, Dickinson, Friendswood, Galveston, Hitchcock, La Marque, Pearland, Santa Fe, and Texas City school districts.

Our Position Statement

I. CCISD and GBCHI will consolidate the educational services for students enrolled in GBCHI into feeder schools within CCISD.

II. CCISD and GBCHI will improve communications with the families of students in the GBCHI.

III. GBCHI will provide a standard for total communication which will be used by all teachers and interpreters in the classroom.

IV. CCISD and GBCHI will implement a plan within one year to address the above statements.

Who We Are?

PASS was formed by the families of students with hearing impairments in GBCHI (Galveston Brazoria Cooperative for the Hearing Impairments) to effect change in GBCHI.   Families initially met in a social settings and discovered we each had some of the same concerns regarding the education of our students.
